Took advantage of two clear nights last week to image some deep space dusties through the local LP  I need another trip to Lostock .
This is just under two hours of NGC 6726 refection nebula in Corona Australis. 54 x 2 minute subs for the field and 20 x 10 second subs for the stars.
Taken through C11 Edge HD with Canon 60Da using the Hyperstar lens.
Processed with Pixinsight.

Gee that is really very nice. I thought it was done using a high end dedicated CCD camera. That made that 60Da sing there.

Yeah nice work Rod, while I would expect the LP was not your friend, I like the minimalist subtle presentation of this region, probably a more natural view of such an object even? My wife would love it, we have a similar looking version (http://www.pbase.com/strongmanmike2002/image/83370896/original) hanging in our lounge I did back in 07 as a quicky tester image from LP location, I thought it was very underwhelming but she likes the minimalist subtle colour

Nice work, Rod. That's a great result from a light polluted location!

That is a tough subject from the burbs - a very nice rendition

Thanks Greg! :) Its starting to get pretty cold out on the imaging deck and the 60Da's loving it. The average sensor temp for this run was a chilly +14c ;) . But seriously, its got a bloody good sensor this one. It even smashes my 6D at ISO 800 with less hot pixels. Its a different story at ISO 6400 though.
I've been eyeing off the Trius SX-814 looks like it would suite the Hyperstar very well. I've emailed Santa but without reply
Cheers Mike!
Yeah they do look similar, your wife is quite welcome to hang my image if one is not enough ;)
To be honest, my minds eye was picturing something like Roberto's image here (http://astrob.in/100409/0/) but I quickly realized that wasn't happening :D Slightly different recipe needed I'd say. Like, dark site, longer integration time and better flat calibration (I'm almost there with flats). I am happy with how this came out though.
Thanks Rick! The Idas LPS filter certainly pulls its weight when imaging here at home. Here's a 120 sec F2 Hyperstar sub for reference. DBE is the best thing since sliced bread :D
Thanks for dropping in whilst on holidays

Thanks Pete! :)
Yeah I definitely waited for it to be well above Sydney's murky glow.

Whatever you did, it paid off - that is a very attractive and "natural" image. Nice work.

I really like the field of view. I like the space surrounding the object and the perspective this gives. Subtle colours but pretty good given the LP you must have.

Thanks H! :)
Thanks David! I was pretty happy considering it was taken from home.
Thanks Paul! :) The APS - C sensor / hyperstar combo covers a good bit of sky. Great for wide field shots in one frame.
Cheers
