Hi all, this is a stacked image from last weekend, it is the first time i have been able to see the "blue" in one of my images:D

This is 2 images combined,RGB levels adjusted way too much, but i don't mind, it's a buzz to see it glowing away.

Taken with the 5d, 70-300mmIS @ 300mm f/5.6 ISO 3200, total of 1 minute 46 seconds, i can't wait to get the eq5 tracking nicely and go for a few longer exposures.

That's pretty good for a 106 sec shot Trevor.
Once tracking properly you'll be able to get a much better signal to noise ratio.

Can't wait to see what you'll achieve.

Ah yes just noticed the ISO 3200.

Try 800 or max 1600 Trev, the 5D should handle it well.

I agree, I seldom use anything higher than ISO800, preferring to opt for longer or more or both. Can't fault it for trying though, great shot.

:)Thanks for all the responses.

I knew that the 3200 ISO was pushing it a bit, but i wanted to get as much on the cmos as i could in the shortest amount of time:screwy:

The images i was getting of Orion and the Horsy seemed o.k. at 3200, so i thought i would leave it as i for the Sisters.

It was around 5.50am when i imaged it, a little low, but still great to see them rising.

This is another version of the same two stacked images, cropped and only slightly adjusted compared to the previous image.
