Hey folks, I put my Canon 1000d and my nifty 50mm lens on my mount for a change. Took about two hours of this centred on M8/M20.
Cosmic Dust!!

Thanks Raymo, forgot to mention was 1600ISO at 300 secs each. Unmodified Canon 1000D. Great camera really. Keeps relatively cool compared to the 5D..

Hi Graham,

Lovely shot!
Just curious, I have a 1000D too, but what was the lens you used and what F stop? I have the 18 - 55 zoom but am not very happy with it.

Cheers,
Ross...

Hi JZ it was the nifty fifty plastic fantastic cheapo 50mm lens- I will have to check the f stop- I didn't note it down but it is still set up on the occasion when the cloud deck lifts!!

What tripod mount did you use with your DSLR?
You did not use telescope to connect to?

Hi, it was mounted on the underside of my plate for my PMX mount so it was a rather large mount for a camera!- just the camera and lens - no telescope.
