Hi Folks,
Sometime ago my SBIG decided it needed to go visit the family at the factory, so while it was being repaired, a good buddy from the ASV loaned me his Modded & cooled Canon 40da to play with, thank you Phil :)
I was astonished and intrigued as it came with a 6nm Ha filter in place, which immediately made me go hmmmmmm:question:. So I have been waiting for a clear sky for a chance to experiment.
This is the result of blending 90 mins of Ha with 3 hrs of RGB. Shot with the IDAS filter from my suburban backyard. I have more or less followed the Starizona method of Blending as seen here -http://starizona.com/acb/ccd/software/ps_hargb.aspx????
This example is perhaps a bit vivid, but the potential for the technique is amazing, and should keep me happily shooting for another season until I eventually persuade her indoors to allow me to get a mono camera and filters.;)
The SBIG is back this week, so it's time to get myself an Ha filter, and out to dark skies again!
