I had to head up to the Boggabri coal mine last week for some work details and finally a trip coincided with new moon week.:) I was able to stay the night at my parents house in Gunnedah (very convenient) and after dinner I went out to take some nightscapes.
This shot was taken from the top of Porcupine lookout which has great vista's clockwise from the north west to the south. I found this nice opening in the trees looking east while walking down a track. All I had to do was wait for the wind to drop off, which it did quite quickly. The light pollution glowing behind the mountains is from Tamworth.
Taken with the Canon 6D, Samyang 14mm F2.8. 30 sec exposure, ISO6400.
