Hi hector. :welcome: to the forum and thanks for signing up!
Umina is on the central coast, only 15 minutes away from where I live. I met Andrew (hector) at the SPSP, he's an experienced amateur with a 20" dob!!
He's a good friend of Gary Kopff, the creater of ArgoNavis, whom we also met and spent some time with at the SPSP, and who also lives just near the Central Coast, at Mt Kuringai.
We'll hopefully be planning some local observing sessions in the very near future! It was great to meet you Andrew and hope to catch up again soon.
Hope to see you back on the forums regularly, it grows on you :)

Velcome Hector.
hey Ice, Im thinking with all these "locals" a lower hunter/C.Coast start party might be an idea?
others would be invited to:face: of course.

Let's keep that idea alive, Brendan! I took your advice and went and had a look at Mulbring soccer field (only got 'slightly' lost once I got over Mt Sugarloaf!)... looks good. Have you been there at night?
thanks mike, thought i'd heard the name somewhere :)

Hi truffle,
yes been there at night resonably dark sky with a little light polution from the usual suspects, shouldn't be to much of a problem though.
I will scout around for other options too.

Hi All
Would like to get together with anyone from the Central Coast or Hunter region for and observing session. I know a few good places in the area that allow for GREAT deep sky observing.
Andrew
