Never seen one of these before, but to get a reasonable image on my first sighting was very exciting!

Beautiful tiny bird, think it could be called a 'Rose Robin',another keen bird spotter saw on of these last winter in same area,so I always kept my eye out for one. They move fast through shrubby trees,I used a 400 mm lens on a 50D to get image.

Hope this is of interest.

Lovely shot of a gorgeous bird.:)

Hope you don’t mind Chris, but I punched the jpg through CS6 and a couple of the Topaz Plug Ins and came up the attached interpretation, to kick a bit of light into some of the areas.:)

Cheers

Great shot Chris. Definitely a Rose Robin. Pink Robins have a distinctively pink belly and a darker head / back, and usually occur in Tasmania and the southern parts of Victoria.
