That's a great image. I love the small galaxy left of the bright lower orange star - it looks like a spiral ploughing straight into another galaxy.

Fantastic group of galaxies Joshua. The 2 bright stars are kind of distracting your galaxies, I wish there is a way to cut down their halo, brightness? Just my taste of course. Cheers David

:thumbsup: Spectacular image Josh.

You seem to be well in control of the star shape issue as well - what did you do to fix it?

That's very nice data Josh. It's an amazing section of sky; well done with the framing.

Those super bright yellow stars are certainly extremely bright [4.8mag + 6.8mag], and I think the field looks very interesting, with lots to look at indeed. It's no doubt a tough target, with those close in galaxies captured being all dimmer than -12mag, some I can see dimmer than -15mag to -16mag. It's a hard combination of bright stars with very dim galaxies!

Great Effort!
Steve :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Josh, thanks for the Hubble pic. It almost looks like one galaxy in front of the other. Was there any more information where you found the pic?

Great image Josh.
The two bright stars are HD92036 and HD91964.
The more easily identified objects are NGC 3307, NGC 3308, NGC 3309, NGC 3311, NGC 3312, NGC 3314, NGC 3317, NGC 3316, and IC 629
Simbad puts 118 galaxies within 30 arcmin of the image centre.

It makes a statement hey, Thanks Greg.

I got the picture from a CD but the galaxy is NGC 3314

Thanks Bob. Its NGC 3314

Thankyou Andrew for that. 30 arcsec or 30 arcmin? 118 is heaps for 1/2 an arcmin isn't it?
