I did this in NB but my combinations of Ha, S2 and O3 look like something the cat left on the porch. So I'll be content with just the Ha. I could stretch it more but I rather like a softer touch in Ha. FSQ85 reduced to 330mm 6x10 mins only and SXVR_H16.

Nice. It's funny seeing the Trifid without the reflection nebula.

Nice work, Peter. Keep at the NB colour processing. I'm sure you'll get there.
Cheers,
Rick.

Nice FOV with the FSQ85, Peter, the Ha looks great.
Maybe try a Bi-Colour with Ha>R, O111>G & B.
There's a simple Pixinsight tutorial I had some success with on the Pencil Nebula using only Ha & O111 data. Let me know if you need the link.
Cheers, Geoff

Is that in SHO?
R=SII
G=Ha
B=OIII
Doesn't really look like it...?
If your SII and OIII data is anywhere near as good as your Ha data then it should come up nicely. M8 looks awesome in Hubble palette.
EDIT: I take that back, it does look like SHO, maybe it just needs more love ;)

As nice as the colour image is I really love the way the details show in the Greyscale picture. Really nice result Peter

Thanks Trevor. I'm a sucker for a nice Ha filter!! Wish I could afford one of those NII jobs but I'd need to win Lotto for that.

Your Ha shot is brilliant and I love the NGC6559 region as I think it's often overlooked because M8 is so easy the image.
Great show, Peter.
