This is one I've managed to put together in the infrequent periods of clear sky that we've had lately. I think it would probably benefit from a lot more colour data as it seems to lack a bit of "zing". Suggestions would be welcome.
Cheers
Steve

Steve,
I think it looks pretty good too. There is a bit of sameness in the Ha background but maybe that's just the way it is? If there's enough OIII or SII to be worth collecting perhaps you could use that to introduce some colour variation.
Cheers,
Rick.

looks good to me Steve - not excessive in any way and looks "real".

I like it. Not lacking zing detail and contrast wise at all. Colour.... maybe?.

Good image Steve!
Like the colour, it's a tough one to balance with so many shades of red.
Cheers,
Justin.

Hi Steve - looks good -
I hope you don't mind?
What about a bit of LAB colour with some masks like this:

Thanks Alan. I'll check that out.
Thanks Justin. I think I have it too red with The Ha predominating too much
Yeah I think you hit it Fred - something not right about the colour.
Thanks Ray
Thanks Rick. I don't have any OIII but maybe it would be worth collecting.
Thanks Graham

Good work Steve....a fun region to return to every year.

Thanks Louie. I think this region works best in narrow band with a wide enough field to see NGC 6164/65.

Steve,
No problem.
I really like LAB mode - to increase colour without a brightness increase.
The masking was a little difficult as I had to paint it in by hand
& blur/feather it - otherwise the edges
of the nebula went purple.

Amazing Steve, that's an awesome view. Interesting how the nebula subsides away from the two bright stars.

Thanks Joshua. That subsidence effect is more noticeable with the Ha. I expect it as a result of stellar winds form the the stars.
Still haven't done it yet Allan but I definitely should use LAB colour more than I do. You never stop learning new techniques.
