All,

The Sun on the 18th of May, 2014.

I was just seeing if I was able to take images with the FSQ-106N and an Extender-Q.

As my photography gear is still down in Sydney at my parents, I used my lovely wife's camera to take this image.

The image was photographed with a white light filter (and has been tinted orange in post).

Images were average combined using Canon DPP's compositing tool.

Canon EOS-50D, Takahashi FSQ-106N, Takahashi Extender-Q 1.6x
14 x 1/1000s f/8 at 848.0mm iso100

Looks good to me H, albeit (to my old eyes anyway) a tad dark?

Yep, I agree. :)

After I saved the file the other day, I realised it was a tad dark.

In DPP, I brought each file down 1/6th of a stop so that the histogram peaked on the 0 EV marker. I was experimenting. In reality, it could be pushed easily by a stop. Something for this weekend when I try again. :)

Many thanks, Bob!

Would love to invest in a wedge or solar scope at some stage.
