Next year Australia and New Zealand host the ICC cricket World Cup.
My Wife, being a huge cricket fan (and an Ozzie, from Launceston- had pictures of David Boon and Dean Jones, Jack Marsh, Alan Border, the Waughs on her wall instead of pop stars and skived school to watch a complete test match!) has her birthday next March around some of the dates of matches.
I went on line and in Tassie they have matches (for example Zimbabwe vs Ireland) but not able to book two seats together. I am too old to bloody stand around in the no seating area, have done that recently in Tas with AFL and cricket at Blundstones and it's hard work on the old lumbar region.
So after a couple of cheeky chardonnays I bit the bullet and now we have tickets to the final. Maybe it's in the Gods at the MCG but bloody Hell !
Keeping her happy is a priority (after I recently ordered a new SBIG camera !!!)
Even if I need to take a telescope to see the players it will be a great day nighter.
We did the same almost a decade ago to see the AFL Grand final - the atmosphere was fantastic even though didn't support either team (Lions got thrashed by Port) but was worth it for the experience.
If NZ are in the final may have to borrow my mates sheep costume:D
