Townsville Meteorite 15 may 2014

Reports are rolling in this morning of a meteorite strike at the Ross Dam area near Townsville North Qld:
15MAY2014 Matthew Manser Townsville, Qld, Australia 18.52 +10 1sec Australia Saw a green tail with red ball Same colour as the green traffic signal light no fragments soon after it moved out of sight I saw a flash of light

15MAY2014 Graeme Cross Townsville, Queensland, Australia 1850 AEST pm 3 seconds I was facing south west it came in at 45 degrees left to right I saw a huge blue glowing ball with a tail and a big orange glow after it passed behind hills as if it had crashed very bright like magnesium burning no it appeared it crashed to earth SW of Townsville

I have spoke to Sea FM Mackay this morning where people there also saw it. I will be speaking to SeaFM Townsville shortly . I would love to hear your reports of this event if you have any ?

Doh, yes, just recently heard about it, so saw and heard nothing.

There is a thread on our Townsville Astronomy Group Facebook page, and the friend of a member saw it.

Sounded like a beauty though, would have loved to see it!!

Will listen out to today for reports of others seeing it. :)

I have joined up the T'ville forum this morning :-)
This is getting lots of Media coverage up here.
I ended up doing 3 radio interviews before 8am :eyepop:
Looking forward to hearing more about it.
I have heard a suggestion it was a piece of reentering space junk..
I have looked up the tracking sites and can't correlate that at this stage.
I am still assuming it was a metallic ferrous Meteorite.
