View Full Version here: : Yep - last night's seeing was rubbish
Managed to snap this quick 40 second avi between fast moving cloud last night.
Gee, the difference in seeing conditions from only a few days prior is really quite staggering.
Anyway, here tis... served with a nice helping of onions:lol:
Didn't bother processing beyond Regi...

hey a month ago you would've been happy with that! :D
Amazing how we raise the bar on ourselves. I still think it's a good shot Matt, better than some of the rubbish i've captured lately.
Yeah... true, but you know what it's like though, right?
Once you've had a taste of some of the better stuff it's tough to go back:lol:

Looking good Matt, there's definite improvement even in your poor seeing shots which suggests improvement in your techniques and processing all round:thumbsup:.
By the way what exposure, frame rate and gain do you typically run?
cheers,
Thanks Rob.
I vary the exposure between 1/25th and 1/33rd depending on the seeing and which produces the better result on the laptop screen on the night.
I've found, though, that 1/25th tends to give my images a little more saturation.
I'm normally working at 10fps... will occasionally try 5fps if the seeing looks up to it and I dare take the risk of only capturing 500-600 frames in an avi.
The gain varies also depending on the night, but anywhere between 40/50% up to 65/70%
