Lucky for some

We had some decent seeing in Sydney last night, Skippy Sky had forecasted a band of '8' over the area so I setup for some visual and captured a few sequences along the way :D had a great visual session with lots of detail showing.

C11 Edge HD, EQ6, Powermate 2.5x
QHY5L-ii colour, 320x240 ~50fps

This stack was the result of 10% of 10000 frames. I haven't really settled on the colour situation, this is straight out of Registax where RGB Balance->Auto Balance has been applied. The view at the eyepiece seemed a touch more orangey-red than this. Any thoughts?

It's interesting to see the changing face of Mars...this side showing Syrtis Major much more clearly than my previous captures, and also showing Utopia and clouds over Elysium.

Good image with lots of details!

Maybe the blue channel needs to be toned down if you want it to look more traditionally red.

Curves in PS might also get rid of the blue cast around the globe.

Opportunities to resample for bigger image scale as well.

Well done.

Good image. I still wonder how to get the "smooth" texture in the images.

I hope you australians know how lucky you are. What is Mars at, down there? Almost 60 degrees altitude? You Lucky b.....s ;)

Thanks Ørnulf, yeah max of 59 degrees here in Sydney, Saturn transits at 71 degrees! It's a good few years for these two down here :D
