I was fortunate on Sunday to get a glimpse of the sun through the sucker holes in clouds. my subs were so short i only could manage to stack 40 frames from each mosaic section making 8 shots - not my normal choice that's for sure and it shows. and then i managed to get a 150 frame video of the sun in HA - just managed to get a focus then grabbed the video - it would have been awesome in clear skies. - for the record it rained - 24mm throughout the day ;)

Pretty good effort David, considering the elements, nicely captured.

The B&W WL shot does it for me David. How on earth did you manage to sneak these in on such a special and significant day!:eyepop:

Cheers

i was very lucky Leon, thanks

well i had been keeping an eye on the time, knew lunch was not happening as we were going out for dinner for the occasion and watched the radar and the cloud satellite the window didnt last long, and it had three layers of cloud crossing so it was a mad dash for the clear air. cropped out the clouds inthe videos then processed them:thanx: and I was hiding in the doghouse:P so as to not disturb her:P , thats my excuse and i will stick with it:lol:

Your first image is pretty much what I observed through the FSQ-106N and 7.5mm LE and a Mylar filter on Mother's Day. :)

I'd never done any solar observing up until that point (unless you count the eclipse in Port Douglas). Was good fun, albeit, quite warm up on the Sunshine Coast!

Next step, is to take photos!
