I thought I would experiment with my 35mm Lunt scope and DMK camera using my alt-az mount. Here are some results.

Great pics Richard. While we were in Sydney someone had set up a solar telescope at Circular quay near the overseas terminal. I was actually knocked out by the images through the eyepiece and decided we had to get one for our public viewing. The only information from him ( not a member) was that it was a Lunt without a double stack so I thought it would be pretty easy to duplicate. Got some info from Don at Bintel and inspected a scope owned by Luke Dodd in Qld - a double stacked LS60 with B1200 blocking. Very disappointed with images,,there was some issue with the blocking filter being contaminated. We just want the best wow! factor- prominences and surface features, like we saw in Sydney. Do you know who this person was? imaging not so important at this stage. Any suggestions. Much appreciated!

Hi Philip and Marie,
Sorry, no idea who that person was. Great idea showing the public the Sun. My Lunt 35mm scope is a great scope. The image is bright and the Prom and disc details are terrific given the small aperture. I look at the Sun each morning before work when possible.
regards,
Richard.
