Firstly, I'm informed by a colleague that a better designation for this object is VBRC 7. It was first cataloged in 1972 and ESO picked it up in 1980. I've added some more data, mainly 6 1/2 hours of OIII which seems to have improved the visibility and contrast a fair bit. I don't think it's worth going any further.

Great image, great to see a less well known planetary imaged. The much brighter Shapley 1 is only around half a degree away too. The only pic of seen of VBRC 7 in colour previously was mine, but yours is much deeper. Scott

Thanks Scott. I've imaged Shapley 1 several times before but this is the first time I've had a go at this one. I thought I had seen another image of it here. Can you provide a link to your image?
