Hi Everyone

Eta was my secondary deep sky target at this years IISAC with IC4603 being the primary target.

This image has only 51 minutes of data. I balanced for IC4603 which was rising in the east and Eta was close to the meridian, leaving me around 20 degrees of mount tracking to capture some subs. I could of set up for both targets and re balanced but I was just really focused on the primary target.

Taken with the C11 Edge hd at F2 using the Hyperstar lens and Canon 60Da iso 800.

50 x 60 sec subs for the field , 28 x 5 sec subs for the stars combined with Pixisights HDR composition tool. Calibrated with darks, Bias and flats.

Click here (http://astrob.in/full/94509/0/) for large version on Astrobin. 1.2MB

Had lots of fun chatting with Hugh, Jason and Trevor while capturing the data, also shot some nightscapes during the process too. Cant wait for IISAC 2015 :)

I hope to have IC4603 posted soon I'm just battling with some strange light streaking which I suspect is Antares doing :confuse3:.

Thanks for looking

Those Hyperstar set ups certainly suck down the photons, Rod! Great work for less than an hour of data with a DSLR.

Cheers,
Rick.

That really shows what a Hyperstar setup is capable of. Well done Rod.

Cheers,

Yeah thanks Rick! It doesn't take long to get something to work with. I must say the nice dark sky at Lostock helps with the quality of data, more so than my Sydney suburban mucky sky at home.

Thanks Cam! :) The Hyperstar purrs along nicely when you get them collimated correctly (which mine was about 95% there during this session ). I could of framed it a bit better eh. I was going to crop the left side a bit to center Eta but I've finally found the right settings when shooting flats for the Hyperstar. I was quite happy with the entire field so I didn't crop.

Cheers

Rod
