Hi,

Been off for a while concentrating on my fitness and weight, starting to get a bit fat!:(.
Lost 5 kilo's though :). Another 4 to go.

This image of IC 4628 the ( Prawn nebula ) was from just over an hour of hard won data.
I had some tracking problems, and clouds creating havoc.
I'm pleased with the level of detail, especially in the prawn's tail.
As you all know I like my images colourful, and it is!:D

Hope you like it.

8” F/4 astrograph , baader type coma corrector, HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Camera.
Unmodded Cannon 1100D. Cooler box.

7 x 8 minute subs ISO 800 and 2 x 5 minute ISO 1600. Darks. Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker .Processed in Photoshop 7 .

Cheers,

Justin.

You got quite a lot of Ha light here Justing, despite the unmodded camera. Lovely color on the stars even if they are maybe a bit soft, but this is just personal taste..

I like it. I also like the star colours. DSLR's are a bit slack in this area and need a bit of a kick. If it was an RGB image taken with a CCD camera that's what the stars would look like anyway, so why not have a DSLR do the same?

The Prawn is also on my hit list, weather permitting. Along with about a million other objects... So many deep sky objects, so little time lol.

Thanks Kevin!

Certainly have to work the stars quite a bit in PS to bring out the colour, worth it though.
The prawn is one of those nebs that take a bit to process, it's involved with a lot of fainter nebulosity which is difficult not to destroy while trying to enhance the rest.
Look forward to your prawn.

Thanks Mike!

Good to have an ally on the colour front.

Getting fitter, a lot less puffing now.:)

Thanks Rick!

Thanks Steve,

Nice to know that it's pleasing colour wise.

Cheers,

Justin.
