This is a work in progress. I only managed two hours of data between the clouds. Hopefully, I'll be improving on it when conditions are better. Still, it's a lovely galaxy. The pic is one which (I think) looks good at first glance, but faults show up on closer inspection:

Some sort of ringing artifacts in the bright stars, probably due to deconvolution. Bit of a trade-off here. Stuff up a few bright stars but gain more detail in the galaxy
A red fringe on one side of the brighter stars. This one really has me puzzled. It looks like a registration error, but registration was done in PI, so it can't be wrong (or can it?) I did the registration twice as a check on possible user error.

Hi Geoff,
Great image for only 2 hours.

Both those small problems are easy to fix in Photoshop.
You could also increase the contrast in the center of the galaxy as I did in this thread:

Great image of M83 Geoff!

Quality equipment really shows through with the level of detail.
Good colour balance too.

Cheers,

Justin.

Yeah probably:question:…but still, that first glance is pretty good and the colour looks lovely

I know I mention it on occasions?…but that decon PSF can be an image killer IMO
