Hi,

I have a quirk I've noticed recently with my EQ6. When I press the Right button (RA) to line up a star on the crosshairs, after I release the button it keeps on moving for about 5 secs before it stops. I then have to bring it back with the left button and it stops immediatly upon release of the button.
I'm sure this hasn't happened before and I wonder if it is doing the same when it gets a command from PHD to move right.

When I'm guiding according to DSS my average dx (DEC) movement is 0.3 pixel, my average dy (RA) movement is 2.0 pixels, this is per 300 sec sub.

Should I be worried?

Bill
EDIT: Sorry I meant to place this in equipment discussions

Mine does that, always has, don't know why...
As long as I'm well aligned, my guiding's fine.

Thanks for replying Hugh, well it must have been there forever I guess.

We had a power outage the other night that lasted for 5 secs in the middle of an imaging run and I thought damage may have occured when the power came back on. It was after that I became aware of it.

I better buy a UPS to be safe I think.

Regards
Bil

Previous NEQ6 I had ALWAYS did it, no matter how I adjusted the meshing of the spur gears.

Current NEQ6 I have is absolutely flawless - no over-travel, no lurching, and QUIET! Absolutely impressive mount (previous owner tuned it, I hyper tuned it further!)

Every Skywatcher mount I have had before this NEQ6 sis it, including the Skywatcher Synscan GOTO kit fitted to my Vixen GPD2 (which I have hyper-hyper tuned and now it does NOT)

Sounds like it's time for me to summon up the courage and do the tune up as per Astrobabys instructions, and while I'm at it install the belt and pully kit from Beltingonline.

My EQ6 is now over 2 years old so it must be due for a service.
