Hi all,

that image I did recently of the Trifid Nebula recently (see http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=11904)

made Astronomy Magazine's Pic of the Day
see http://www.astronomy.com/asy/default.aspx?c=ga&id=99&aid=4417

You can also see an improved version of the image (bright part of nebula is masked) on my web site at http://www.skylab.com.au/pmsa/ngc6618_DSLR_copy(1).html

Looks like the skies are clearing too!

regards to all

Thanks all - for your kind comments. Always great for one of us aussies to get an image in a U.S. publication. Most of all, I'm glad you took the time to leave your comments, thanks a lot.

Just saw this Paul

Congratulations and looks good!

The new improved version is even better.

If I can give you another suggestion that will make it EVEN better, the image has been clipped showing particularly on the right side, try increasing the dynamic range and fiddling with the white point/black point in levels a bit and see if you can bring out the faint stuff that I am sure is there.

Cheers and well done again
