Hi Folks,

Does anyone have one of these or do you know if they work in Australia, specifically the tracking component etc.

I want a little 90mm mak to upgrade from my 500mm refractor and I like the idea of the tracking mount

Thanks again

:)Never seen one Steve , it looks like a great set up , nice scope , awesome mount ,( solid ) a very well thought out scope . Nice .

Its also a SW so you can buy with confidence .
Where are you going to buy it ?, I have not seen these advertised in Australia.

Brian.

It would seem they are only available over seas due to northern hemisphere only alignment.. Pity..

I have decided on the orion 90mm mak tabletop as I dont really need another mount. Skywatcher have one on a EQ1 as well.

It would be nice if we had some cheap goto mounts.

I don't think that's correct - from page 5 of the Virtuoso Mak90 user manual:

For Northern Hemisphere users, rotate the altitude axis until the altitude scale reads 0 degree. For Southern Hemisphere users, let the dial read the local latitude. User can rotate the altitude axis with motor or manually

Hi if you put a synscan hand controller on it all should work the same like the skywatcher Merlin or like the Orion Teletrack like I have including being able to control it with a android tablet,pc,or mac with a Bluetooth adaptor attached to the bottom of the hand controller.

Or you can buy the Skywatcher Allview mount .

That to me says it wont track but can be used manually.

No, if you read the manual, you have to target manually (no GoTo), but then it tracks.
