Hi All,

I came accross this add in Astromart, and what a beauty it is. This hand made 6' Newtonian Telescope is mounted on (i think) a home made EQ mount. Its just beautifull to look at. I dont know why but i find myself quiet taken with this scope. I wish I could find a way to buy it and bring it over here.

50 years on, our telescopes are more about precision, perforrmance and gadgetry. The look of the telescope is paid little concern. As an Engineering student i remember my dean once telling us all that we were realy much like the Art's student. I recall pondering that and wondering why he said it and i think am begining to understand why. Lot of students were schoked after all we felt we were smarter. It seems this "Smartieness" combined with the economic realiteis have driven us to be more practical and effective and less concerned with Look and feel of a thing.

With all my drive to get tracking hapening on my Dob i forgot the simple wonder that started me staring as litle boy into the heavens.

Regards

That's great! I love the work of a fine craftsman. Are those eyepieces handmade too???
