Sun, Moon, Mars & Saturn collection from 19th & 20th April, Brisbane

I had a fairly successful, if not busy session last night and this morning and managed to grab some moments of reasonable seeing between the predominantly ordinary conditions.

Some of the seeing was quite tantalising but it just didn’t last long enough to harvest a significant number of frames, but it was quite wonderful watching the clarity on the computer screen. All processed in AutoStakkert2!, Registax5 and finished in CS6.

All taken with Tak Mewlon 180 F12 and ASI120MM and ASI120CM CCD cameras.

I was all set to image the moon last night but seeing was not upto it a long FL. The Clavius, Moretus and Tycho is superb, looks like you got good exercise last two nights.

Yeah – I remember the good old days of 640x480 chips, USB1, Registax 3 with only a single alignment point and Corel Photo Paint with manual mosaic assembly. How times and technology have changed…:)

Thanks John, the seeing was quite variable although I’m having a night in tonight to recover from the night/morning session, solar and image processing activities of the last 24 hours.

The seeing barely stood up to a focal length of 3456mm last night and todays solar efforts were at the native 2160mm focal length as it was rubbish above that.
