Took this snap on Christmas Day a couple ago - what else would one frame inside a double rainbow! The sky colour went to a golden shade making it quite spectacular.

Nikon D80, 1/200 sec, f/7.1, ISO 320, fl = 10.5 mm.
Cropped and minor adjustments using LR4.

Little (well quite large really) pot of gold there Chris ;)

Just wondering, how come you didnt site the Obs a little further left in that picture, away from the trees..?

Thanks Trevor, Simon & Mike - glad that you liked it.

Mike - the obs is sort of on our front lawn, but a bit to the side so that it doesn't block our view from the family room. Whatever sky the trees block, the stars will surely emerge from if I wait long enough. I've got a 30 deg horizon to the East and about 35 to the South. Shooting much below those angles doesn't give good seeing usually, so no real drama.
