Canberra's seeing slipped back to its old reliable 3-4/10 but I'm enjoying the image scale from the 3x barlow so much I don't care!:P

I captured 20 avi's tonight... all of the same muck. Here's the first of an ordinary bunch...

but gee it's fun:D

You guys crack me up! Your "ordinary" Jupiter photos are better than anything I could ever do.

Very nice photo, Matt!

Gary,

you'll have to move to Oz for the clear dark sky

I know the feeling Matt. Just get out there and make the most of it as often as you can. You never know, for a brief minute the sky might have settled to 10/10 and you could be just fortunate enough to capture it briefly in part of an avie in that long session.

C'mon Gary, you need a holiday, and Down Under is a damn fine place to be this time of the year. :D

Yeah. Come on dowwwwwwwwwn Gary!!!!:D

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Mike, apart from the tranparency having an impact on colour, I've noticed it also varies quite a lot when you vary your exposure.

In particular, I see quite a difference in saturation between 1/25th of a second as compared to 1/33rd. The slower shutter speed being the more saturated.

This little ToUcam continues to surprise:thumbsup:

As a general rule I tend to find them above my head... vingo!!!

It is weird we're getting clear skies here in Canberra while not far away it's no-go at your place:shrug:

There has been patchy cloud here, though. Just shooting pix in the gaps.

Although the seeing has been ordinary. (hope that's some comfort?)

Thanks for the invite guys! I would love to have a holiday down under. Unfortunatley there is one problem.... this thing in the Northern Hemisphere that we call "cash" or "money". Are you guys familiar with that there? I've heard rumors that cash grows on trees in Oz.

Ving.... with all of your clouds.... are you sure that you are not in the USA in Michigan? Sure sounds like it! If so... drop on by the house. The temps are hot and in the 90's F (32+ C). The swimming pool is warm, and the beer is cold! We'll be waiting for you.

Hey Matt, not bad at all, but reckon the image scale a little on the small compared sides with the shots I've taken with my 3x barlow... (only kidding:rofl: )

The weather does seem to have been a little kinder to the Canberrians of recent... reckon I've taken my lumps in full for a couple of good nights last summer;)

cheers,
