This is the first time I've had a chance to capture this morning comet. Since there is more bad weather coming I thought better get it while I can. Some magnitude estimates put it at 8.5.
SW120mm F5 refractor, Pentax K-x, 21 x 30 seconds at ISO 3200, stacked in DSS.

Very nice capture there!
Well done.
Can I interest you in taking some spectra of comets????

I would like to see some spectra of comets, but I think I'm too lazy to do it myself. ;)

"You never never know - if you never never go"...... ;-)
Lo-res spectra with a grating will clearly show the Swan bands (gas) and reflected sunlight (dust).

Thanks Rob.
Great shot. I have been observing this for the last few mornings and can't believe how bright it is.

Yes Curt, it's quite a nice one. I haven't had another go at it for a while due to cloud and cyclones, and now Moon.

Green little devil! Reminds me of C/2012 F6 Lemmon which buzzed along down south via Crux, Octans and other southern constellations.
For a comparison here is a snap of Lemmon from February 2013

It does remind me a bit of F6 Lemmon. Nice shot there Richard.
