I thought I'd give 13th magnitude Phobos a go since Mars is well placed and since I finally managed to restored some semblance of Alt/Az control on my Dobsonian.
Canon EOS 600D, HD Video Crop Mode, 1/30sec, 30fps, (ISO102,400 with Magic Lantern firmware), 5x Powermate, 12"SkyWatcher Goto Dobsonian, manually tracked.
Heavy levels and sharpening used and a normally exposed Mars superimposed.
Also attached is an image of Deimos from the other day.
Thanks for looking,
Tom

Hi Tom
More extreme imaging eh! Superb efforts and capturing these two devilishly faint moons of Mars, something I just haven’t considered previously, but this is now on my to do list!
Cheers

Now that's something you don't see everyday. Considering the surface area you had to work with I'd say this is an excellent effort.
Excellent work Tom
Definitely images that are not easy to capture.

Very well done, and a great challenge indeed! I don't think I have seen these small moons imaged before.

Bloody well done Tom,
It takes some research to find max elongation in an apparition.
You have done very well to get Phobos, the harder of the two.
I could only manage Deimos in 2005. See attached.

Thanks for all the comment guys - I just had a go at the two tonight using just the 600D and Dob. I think it is well worth a go at these moons!
