Sorry if this post is redundant but Mars is looking great tonight and it only does that for a few weeks every couple of years, and the next week or so is not much good weather-wise, so if you are still awake and have a scope, do yourself a favour, go and look! "Seas", ice-caps... not to be missed and not something that you can watch on TV or your computer screen "for real".

I was out last night and the seeing was horrible. Won't even mention the 7-day forecast...
Melbourne sucks :mad2:

Hey Sab, you're right about Melbourne weather being pathetic right now with absolutely no respect for us humble amateur astronomers. But that's part and parcel of the game we choose to play... ;)

yup, the Melb forecast for the next week is looking very ordinary indeed. I'd luckily managed to grab a shot of Mars last Saturday night (5th April 10:30pm, with ordinary-ish seeing conditions). Regards, Dean
