What with the terrible weather it's been quite a while since I've managed a new image. I decided to do this one in narrow-band because many of the rare clear nights have been near full moon. Might have overdone the saturation here but you do have a lot of freedom with nb images.
Cheers

Looks very nice, Steve. I think the colour is fine. It took me a while to figure out that you have the Statue of Liberty almost standing on her head :)

Thanks Rick. Actually, given that I'm not very up with common names, I only found out that this was called the statue of liberty about two days ago.

Stunning colours there Steve, i particularly like the greens!
Is this your normal camera orientation or do you use a rotator?
It is such a great piece of sky, and lends itself well to many different interpretations using various filters. I did an LRGB version recently (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?p=1060520&highlight=statue#post1060520) with the new scope. I would love to try a NIR image, and I really need to get a Ha filter for those moonlit nights too. Your beautiful image has inspired me to get more serious about NB imaging. Time to look for some filters
Thanks for the view!

Well the colours are ok Steve - bold and saturated (all good to me ;)) but to my eye the processing makes it look more like an acrylic or even water colour painting than an image ...that's not necessarily a bad thing mind you, if that look is what you were after :)

I agree Mike. I think I rushed this one into print a bit quickly and it could use a reprocess. The data was pretty much crap which didn't help.
Thanks Rolf. I have a rotator. I missed your posting and I think your shot is much better than mine. NB filters are worth having although I don't use mine much. Off-axis guiding is essential though.

Nice work Steve.

Thanks Louie. It could have been a lot better though with better data and a lot more of it. I don't do NB very often and I always underestimate the amount of data you need for a good result.
