Hi All,

A while ago now a local club member offered me a Atik 383L+, Sx USB wheel and a full set of Astronomik filters for a very reasonable price, so I decided to pull the pin on the DSLR and go full blow mono. I chose mono instead of OSC as at home I have a semi-permanent obs set up, which I figured would make it easier to accomplish multi-night imaging.
I've decided to put up a few pics I've taken since getting the camera rather than start a new thread for each, as most where just first light/ testing sessions I feel it's better to put them here until I actually figure out what I'm really doing :screwy: There's a pic of my mini-obs as well if anyone's interested.
They're not wrong when they say it's a MASSIVE learning curve, especially with processing, but so far I'm pretty happy with how things are looking so far :D

Cheers, and thanks for looking :hi:

Well done Chris, just went to mono CCD myself and have collected some data but haven't got far with the processing side as yet. You are correct it is a big step. Good luck.

Cheers, Brett. Yeah I've been keeping an eye on you're own thread regarding the big step-up! I just read that you yourself are having problems with SGP? I would love to buy a copy, as it seems to be such a great capture program, but it just isn't working well with my Sx USB wheel so I've been holding off. Some driver issue it looks like, and no one from Starlight or Main Sequence can figure out why!!
I look forward to seeing some more of yours images, especially through that sweet frac!

Thanks, Dennis. Very happy with how it's coming along :) Next step is figuring out how to get this OAG to work!
The wooden pier works much better than I thought it would, and being a rental, when I move I'll just need to dismantle the obs and chop it off below ground level  Being a cabinet maker gave me access to all the building materials, even made the pier adaptors out of Polystone!

Cheers,
Chris
