Hi guys and gals,

I took a break from my vela image because of the full moon having some effect on my O3 subs and took some HA on my next target. This is a measly 7.5 hours of subs but already I see that shooting brighter targets has its advantages! Will end up being a full hubble image when I have finished off Vela.

That's looking great & you can really see that Statue of Liberty.

That is a wonderful target & I hope to devote more time to my version of it.

Peter, I looked closely at the full res... I'm quite acquainted with all that's happening in this region as I've just finished processing an image of this area as well.

I think that your result in not shot of UNBELIEVABLE, for a 6" scope. Really. And great processing on this filter too.

That is high praise from you Harel, when I was looking around at scopes before I built this one yours were high contenders. I probably would have gone for one if I was more confident that the corrected field would cover my 8300 chip.

Hi Peter, nice work.

I have started on this combo myself, I saw an image online a while back, it was an LRGB image and was very striking. I am taking some Ha as well and there is a strong Ha signal and I plan to blend it in. Does this object suit LRGB and some Ha blend or best just with narrowband?

Depends on what your going for, you can google hubble pallet images of this and it looks quite striking but there are also some great images of it in LRGB. the two nebulas have a different colour due to their distances and that is a great feature.

I will be doing only narrowband because it is easyer to do from my light polluted site.

Cheers Mike, I like the HA look myself sometimes too but I am itching to do a colour image that I am happy with. Feels like its been ages.

Yes, the little mount with the little scope on it do perform quite well. I myself put my success down to using an OAG, good collimation tools, and precise computer controlled focusing.

I finally got another night on this last night. I managed to get up to 15 hours of HA. I think I will start collecting another filter the next chance I get.

Hi Peter,
Yes - more detail is coming out now - that's fantastic.
The central bright areas inside the Statue area are getting blown out -
maybe a bit more careful stretching in there would help?

Yep there is a little more post processing that I want to do. There are also weird streaks in some parts of the image that I assume are from a bad sub but I cant seem to find the culprit.
