This is my opening salvo for the planetary imaging season. Not great seeing at all, in fact a little below average. Despite that there is some detail present.
I am using my new camera ASI 120 and the C14. Scope cooled to 0.1 of a degree from ambient. Elevation was around 45 degrees at the time. Seeing 3-4/10.
There might be another set of data which is slightly better. I will post it if it is an improvement.

great to see you back imaging planets again paul. Since you did the peltier cooling modification have you notice any increase in dust inside your c14? im seriously considering doing the modification to my c14.

I was wondering whether you gave up on planets and decided to stay on The Dark Side...Promising start considering the conditions.

Non what so ever, that is because I don't have any openings into the scope. Perhaps take a further look at the images on my website. I essentially made a giant dick smith cooler to cool the mirror. :)
I suspect you are not the only person wondering that. Anthony told me this morning it was about bloody time I got back into it. :lol: Next step is to remote automate a planetary imaging setup.

That's a great Mars, nice work. It looks surprisingly cloudy too!

I think there is plenty of fine detail present in the 2nd version. Nice subtle processing.

Wonderful result Paul and at 45 deg elevation to! What Focal length was this at?

I think this is about 10.5 metres. Not the longest focal length I typically use but pretty long.

No I was using a 2x, but the distance between the barlow and the sensor acted to increase the magnification 2.5x
