Expressions of interest or for sale,
Celestron C8 Deluxe Mount and Tripod and case.
The OTA is still attached at this stage as I still have not had time to take it off. I would prefer to keep the OTA. I was thinking of going a different route but this scope has sat around a while and thought why not put the OTA on a smaller mount for easy set up. But still not certain.

So wanted to see if the was anyone interested in buying the tripod mount and case? The mount has the NGC max but the ALT readout is not working properly I think a wire has come loose or the encoder itself maybe faulty, but the unit itself works fine.
The Tripod is the extra heavy duty one sold way back and is very solid and heavy.
The drive system works perfectly well and has the Dec motor and Dual Axis hand controller.
The case is original Celestron Hard case for the C8 Deluxe very sturdy and is on rollers and has carry handles.
There some counter weights for the OTA which I don't need also. and a few other bits for this set up.
All of this is in really good condition for its age and the price back new in its day was very expensive but that is irrelevant today.
I not really sure what all this is worth with out the OTA but only as much as someone is willing to pay if there looking for something like this.
If someone is interested in the above send me a PM with a offer and we can go from there.
There is a lot of heavy things to ship so that could be a problem so I would prefer some other arrangement.

Please just Pm's and I would prefer to keep the OTA and I can explain my reasons in a PM.

Thanks Dave.:)

I've PM'ed Dave about making a post in his ad, and he has given the OK for this post.

This C8 fork mount will make for a brilliant astro video platform! All it needs is a smaller aperture scope, like an 80mm f/5 refractor, or a 114mm f/4.4 reflector, and a video camera.

My video rig is an old Meade fork mount that would have been otherwise trashed. I've coupled both of the above types of scopes to this fork mount, and the result is a brilliant platform, :) An over engineered mount for this type of aperture, and at a fantastic price. All that is required is a little bit of handywork to fashion a platform to straddle the fork and hold the scopes. In my case I also had to make a wedge, but that is not the case with Dave's rig.

I've attached a couple of pics of the two scopes that I've coupled to this old Meade fork mount.

Thanks Alex for your post.

I will take a trade ! Quality eyepieces ? 15 down to 5mm Depending on age and type etc, looking for a quality 2" diagonal also ?

Thanks for looking :)

Just to add, while I am still interested in the gear, with recent events (Being affected by the recent fire that started at Mickelham) I am not quite there money wise.

I think what David wants is reasonable, I just don't quite have enough to horse trade at the moment and cash money is tight! My plan was to build a widefield platform out of it.
