Here are a few lunar scenes taken last night, just before the next day's full moon. All taken at the prime focus (2160mm) of the Tak Mewlon 180 F12 with the ZWO ASI120MM CCD camera.

The seeing was okay at 2160mm but when I added the Tak x1.6 extender, to push the efl out to 3456mm, the image quality would not hold up, so I reverted back to prime focus.:)

The (last) image of Plato was taken with the Tak x1.6 extender and the image quality has suffered at this longer fl.

Cheers

That's as sharp as, Dennis. You must be happy with those.

Thanks Kevin, Rick, Michael, David, Mohammed and Derek, I appreciate your comments.:)

I slewed over to Mars towards the end of the session, a small disc boiling and bouncing around in the poorer seeing at an altitude of around 30 degrees and decided to give it a miss as the image scale was so tiny at 2160mm; it requires some serious focal length!:eyepop:

Nice shots. Very sharp. I took some moonage last night myself - I can only hope mine turn out half as well as yours.

It sure does. John K produces his images at 16m!

I've had a go at 2.5m and it's not that good. It settles down a lot near zenith (around 2am at the moment) but I'd suggest waiting a month or so 'till it's earlier if you want any sleep.
