One thing, though. Far be it from me to tell you about the birds and the bees, but if you just got married, shouldn't you be ... ahem ... busy with something other than this forum? ;)

Thanks, all. :)

Lol, h0ughy. I didn't bring back an Icelandic queen. I've married a local girl in sunny Queensland. I have a job interview in Brisbane on Tuesday. Hoping it all works out!

I might end up being an Astrofest regular. That is, if I don't build an observatory first on the 3mx2m slab in our backyard. :)

Thank you, so much, gents. :)

Pics will come later once we have our western ceremony at my favourite beach. There is an award-winning photographer who I photograph weddings with; I love her style and work really well with her; she has offered to photograph our beach ceremony. So, when that happens, the photos will arrive then. :)

Lol, Steve. :D

Marcus, if auroras count, then, yes, but she also loves the night sky and is fully supportive of me building an observatory in the backyard. She looks up sheds and campervans to convert into man caves for me from time-to-time. But, beyond all that, she shoots her photography in manual mode. It is true love. :P

Thanks, again, all. :)

Ah grasshopper - wait till 7 years, when all settles, and you have figured out her routines, habits, etc. THEN and only then, can you sneak stuff into the house without being caught (or posted to a friend, so she doesn't sign for it :) )

Mine buys rings etc all the time. I don't bat an eyelid, she's happy. I mean, I have enough goodies for myself :) Sometimes after a large purchase, I buy her a nice ring or something too, just because I love her (in other words, GUILT trip)

Thanks again, all. :)

Lewis, I'll try and sneak in a Paramount ME II and TOA-150 purchase in there somewhere. :P

John, not Lady in Black, but, when we have our western ceremony, Shawn Lane's "The Way it Has to Be" is a definite starter!

Good luck with that H - I bought myself a Takahashi FSQ106EDXIII today, and I am probably going to have to slip Valium in the wife's tea so she'll be asleep when the courier comes :confused2::P

So long as the telescope count = 2, her suspicion is usually not too piqued. Having a seperate secret "toy" account makes life easy too - no visible withdrawls, no records...

Octane

Oh, nice one. :)

I love my FSQ-106N (Kai). :)

Thanks, Geoff. We're both looking forward to pitter patter of tiny feet. :)

May she fill your compact flash card with love and happiness.

Hang on, is this the beautiful Melanie that did the "feather eye" fantasy images you did?

:)

Daniel is right - hide money, NOW. It took me another 3 years slowly accumulating what I had before the hostile takeover :) JUST got the Takahashi, NOW need the Vixen AXD...

Octane
01-04-2014, 12:22 PM
haha, nah, that's a friend of mine, Laura. We were going to make more images together, but, she's sadly in Melbourne now.

Melanie's the type that would encourage me to buy a Paramount! I'm on to a keeper. :P

Don't forget to dispose of your Ugg boots at the border, they have special bins for them just to the left side of the road as you approach, where you can swap them for thongs. They won't let you in otherwise ;)

Rolf, same role -- UNIX/Solaris sysadmin, but working for the mob who service the majority of the Queensland government. Bit more varied and perhaps a bit more challenging. :)

Lmao, Chris. I'd much prefer to stay down here in the temperate climes, but, for now, my only option is to move up.

David, absolutely! That would be awesome. :)

Ugg boots may have occasional use at Leyburn! I've seen minus 5 up there.

Astrofest gets down to -7c
Which side of Bris are you going to set up your nest?
South is better for dark areas (most of the lights are broken and nobody can afford to pay the electric.)

Octane
02-04-2014, 08:26 AM
Hi Jen,

-7 is good! That's what I'm used to in the middle of winter down here. I much prefer the cold over the heat.

I'm going to be set up in Caloundra. I'll probably have to invest in narrowband filters for the STL-11000M.

Cheers.
