I'm looking at getting a Lunt Solar Wedge http://www.bintel.com.au/Accessories/Solar-Filters/Lunt-Solar-Wedge--1-25--/1654/productview.aspx
It will be used on my ED100, so my question is there anything else that I would need to get or is it safe to just place it in, hook up the camera and off I go.
Thanks.

The built-in ND3 is mandatory....
Just "plug and play"
Enjoy!

with my Baader wedge the filters were in it but i had a selection of other filters to insert. the added bonus is it acts like a solar finder. google up the lunt solar wedge operating instructions

You might want to consider a polarising filter as well for imaging.

:) Paula , I have one that I use in my 2 refractors and it gives the best white light views of the sun ever ! , just awesome but a 'Polarising' filter is mandatory screwed into the eyepiece as the image is a little to bright without one and its good to be able to tone it down for surface detail and brighten it up for sun spots , by turning the eyepiece ( with filter screwed into ) one way or the other in the wedge .
These are very good .
Very well made bit of gear as well .
Just a word of caution for others , these can ONLY ! be used on refractors .
Brian.

Paula I use a Baader Solar Continuum filter as well but these are quite Exxy so a Dark Green Wratten does nearly the same job.I find that the visual is always better than the camera view. You will also get good results with a DSLR not as good as a mono camera but still good.Perhaps also a UV/IR block filter may help. I have this and the 2" version for the 127mm. This really is a great piece of kit.
Cheers Derek

I have a Baader Ceramic Solar Wedge too and it is excellent in use on my TSA120. Comes well packaged with additional filters.
It is probably twice the price of the Lunt Wedge so you may get a better bargain going with the Lunt.
Would be interesting to compare directly. If the Lunt is similar or better then at the price will save a lot of people dollars.
