Hi all, just thought I would give you guys a heads up if any didn't already know. There is a Callisto transit tonight which starts about 9 and finishes around midnight. They are not exactly rare but being the furthest orbit if the 4 moons you can wait a while for it to come around. I don't even know if I will see anything. The other 3 moons are quite easy to see but I don't know about this one. Just thought that there has been a lot of discussion on the beginners forum about observing Jupiter lately, some maybe interested. I will post if I see anything.

No good I'm afraid. Seeing was that bad here that I couldn't even see the bands on Jupiter in a 12" at 150x. Probably worst I have seen it. Shame, there was a red spot transit at the same time. Callisto should be just below the spot right about now for those with better seeing. Would it be because of the moon which is quite close? I know the moon doesn't generally effect planetary viewing.
