Up for grabs is the simply the best book for southern hemisphere astronomers, Hartung's Astronomical Objects for Southern Telescopes, 2nd Edition.
This book is in excellent condition and has been rarely opened since being purchased brand new as you can see from the photos.

Unless I'm missing something, why would you pay $295 for this
book, when you can get it at or through any major bookshop
for about $85 brand new.

This book has been out of print for some years now and is a collectors item,
so if you find one in a bookshop at retail price snap it up, but chances are you won't.
In fact a search of ice in space archives shows this book has sold for even more in the past, compared with the price that I'm asking.

My humblest apologies. I bought mine off the shelf at Angus and Robertson for $80 about 3yrs ago, and didn't realise that it has since gone out of print, so I obviously was missing something. I should have checked my facts before opening my
big mouth.
