Just caught the end of the GRS transit.

This one's another quick run through Registax with some wavelets, saturation, hue and brightness adjusted.

About 130 frames from 1000.

Seeing not much over 3/10.

The most interesting part of the image is the large white feature lurking on the northern edge of the NEB. (At least I think it's the NEB... if north is to the bottom of the image? Please correct me if I'm wrong)

Cheers

thats a very interesting capture. i think the white spot is the combined result from a coming together a few weeks ago.

Well done!

Nice shot again Matt. The large white spot is (as Dave pointed out) the result of WOY and WOZ merging.

This will stand up to the in-depth treatment again I reckon. You're on a roll!

On a roll indeed, young Matty!:)

Great stuff and great science, that white spot is something... given it's size I wonder if it's destined to turn red too like Red Jnr?

Thanks Mike, Rob.

There's always something to look at with Jupiter, that's for sure.

It'll be disapponting when he finally ends up too far west for any more imaging but by then we'll be preparing for our next round of Saturn.

I'm a bit sad my new 3x Barlow hasn't arrived. I should have ordered it weeks ago. I'd like to have just a few goes at Joops with the increased image scale.

Oh well, there's always next apparition;)

Mike,
Did the full process, also did a little resample.

Hope you like :)

The resample is quite good, Matt. I'd probably change the colour slightly (looks a little too yellow) but otherwise very nice.

You're right, Mike.

I ran out of time before I had to zip off and join other IIS members Frank (member name Spearo) JohnG and Calin for a get-together around 70ks outside Canberra.

That yellow colour is something which happens when I take a photo into PS.

I've got to have a look at our colour management settings.

Didn't have time to adjust before I had to take off.

Was a very enjoyable evening.

Here's a colour adjusted version. Just a little more blue and green.. maybe a tad too much but it was difficult to get the colour right with the original so heavily weighted toward the yellow/orange end of the scale, but I think it's improved the image;)
