Mario, that's an absolutely wonderful shot and I like the reference to Dorothea Mackellar's poem too, very fitting.

Hugh! That photo is stunning. A perfect advert for why carrying a camera at all times is a good idea. Well done.

Matt, that's a pretty nice photograph. Carry your camera everywhere and you'll soon be an old hand :-)

Thought I might 'gussy up' my horizon with some Art Deco.

Various shots, any one I might have chosen to enter... all have merits... and cons :D

1. Why they're called the Blue Mountains.
2. As above but in monochrome.
3. A horizon shot in portrait?
4. Malahat Dawn - view from malahat Lookout on Vancouver Island just before dawn.

I considered all these and a few more but in the end went with an astro theme.

I don't know if I can change it or not?

The first two are of Alicante Port and then back over Alicante itself taken recently and the following two are from Santorini.

You can delete your other entry and put one of these in if you want but you have only tonight to do it (I don't know whether it is closed off at Midnight Aust. Eastern Standard Time or on the morning of the first day of the month)
I love the Sunrise/Set photo a lot and the one looking across Alicanti is interesting to look at.

The Point Peron rejects.

The Pano was three images processed with Canon's Photostitch.
I was never happy with this software and only recently discovered how aweosme Microsoft's ICE is.
I tried to find the original RAW's so I could redo the pano for this month's entry, but I've still not found them :(

Also attached is one shot of the scene to the east while I was shoting the thunderstorm. It was about now that the colours were starting to become intense, so I swung around to the new subject.

@Earthlight - great capture. Barkly or Pilbara, I can't quite tell, but probably the former. That cloud looks awfully familiar.

You're right mate, what a magnificent morning that was! Second only to 14/11/12 :D

Edit:

This is what I saw. I knew I had it floating around here somewhere :hi:
