Hi all!
I thought I'd kick off this month's challenge with a picture I took at sunrise in Sturt's Stony Desert just north of the Flinders Ranges. The scene reminded me of Dorothea Mackellar's poem "My Country", in particular the line "I love her far horizons".
Cheers,
Mario

I took this last weekend... a glimpse of the horizon across Gundungura Country from near the Coal Seam (south of Kanangra). Mt Colong is just right of centre. Yerranderie Peak is just right of the tress at left of frame.

This would have been just a nice sunset on the horizon shot, but somebody tried to steal the limelight ...

Taken on Holiday last year in Scotland. The original is about 12,000 pixels wide so I shrunk it a bit - it's just a tad wider than the site frame - made up of about 6 frames using Canon software

The foreshore on the Mersey River at Devonport was pleasantly Autumnal this morning as I fossicked for Fungi to photograph.
I caught this ship appearing on the Horizon on a Silvery Sea.

Not particularly recent, but it is one of my favourite shots of the Glasshouse Mountains from Bribie Island.

20klms as the crow flies back from the Gold Coast with a waning gibious moon rising @ 10:30pm Mar 22nd over the Ocean.
Changed it up last minute to this beautiful sunset from Santorini.
Squid boats on the horizon create false auroras off the Dunedin coast and seem to be shooting signals off into space. They may be attracting more types of freakish sloppy creatures than they bargained for.

After the bushfires 2010.
This shot was taken while shooting a very active thunderstorm. The lightning was to the east and I had my back to the sunset, but I became aware of the stunning reds and purples bathing everything around me and I turned to the west to be stunned by this scene. Every other photographer on the hill that afternoon did the same!
The image was originally part of a Pano. The colours are as close as I could get to what I saw in person.

"Waiting"
Dawn on the 10th of May 2013. Not exactly current, but it was the climax of our 2500km plus journey to stand on that hilltop to watch that horizon.
