Hi,
Not the calibre of Ray's recent M104, but still had to have a go!
I'm presenting this as a wider field, resolution is not good enough seeing was crap too for any detail, so I made it colourful instead.:) A few of the fainter background galaxies are showing up.
I used registax to stack, it seemed to do a better job on bringing out what detail there is.
8” F/4 astrograph , baader type coma corrector,. HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Camera.
Unmodded Cannon 1100D. Cooler box.
15 x 8 minute subs ISO 800 . Stacked in Registax5 .Processed in Photoshop 7 .
Cheers,
Justin.

Nice image.
Justin, don't you have any clouds where you live? ;) You've been pumping out some nice images. Well done
With your cooler box, do you know what temperature the 1100D's sensor is running at?

another interesting image Justin - what a beaut object it is. Rod's is a good question - where you get all the clear sky from?....Regards Ray

I was wondering where the clear sky was also :D Nice work Justin, very colourful, shame about the seeing. I noted you had included the pointer stars on the RH side of the image also.

Thanks Rod Ray and Andrew!
Usually very good skies here from mid Summer to Autumn, and with the observatory and scope ready to go, I can be imaging in an hour.
Quicker if I'm not waiting for the camera to cool.
Rod the chip temp is usually 10c above the cooling temp of the box, max cooling is 17c for the box.
Cheers,
Justin.

That's a very tidy effort with your setup Justin, with a hint of detail in the dark lane trying to break through. Not that easy a target at relatively low altitude as well.

Unmodded DSLR - that is a very good image from that equipment.
Like the colour.
