I did the Ha for this a while ago. I imaged the LRGB about 2 months ago and just got it ready recently.
CDK17 F4.5, Trius 694, PME.
HaLRGB image. Its a classic object and I have imaged a number of times now. I like this one the best.

Not sure if you did much to shrink the stars Greg but this image seems to suggest your star halo issues were with the TEC scope system and not the Trius..? This is also suggested by your (excellent may I say) CDK17 Thors Helmet (coming soon?)
Very nice horse head that  like the solid image scale...actually it's quite similar to my latest actually...hmm? wonder if you will get hammered for the garish  bold hot pink/magenta too
Too many colourphobes out there :scared3:

Hot pink is the new red! I agree the stars were pretty normal in the subs.
I am thinking the Trius is more sensitive (as it is with every other wavelength) to IR. I am wondering if the bloat in bright stars with the TEC180 (not all images just those annoying ones with bright stars in the field) is from IR. Perhaps I add an extra IR filter to the mix? Worth a test. Not sure how to implement it though.
Thanks Louie.
Cheers Steve.
Thanks Rod, I am happy with it.

Isn't it ever!
Sorry but yep, it's gotta be the TEC I recon, doesn't happen with the CDK17 or my AG12 (which has a 4 element CC)...remember, it aint no Starfire :P

Hehe don't forget I have an AP also! So perhaps. I guess I'll know when I put it on the AP. Its possible the AP is corrected over a wider wavelength range. Or perhaps a simple Baader UV/IR cut put in front of the camera and use my clear luminance filter may work??

Hi Greg,
that's very nice indeed - it's so sharp & noise free.
I wonder if you could post a pure Ha mono version.
( assuming you haven't already in an old post?)
I'm sure the Ha would have more detail especially of the curtain structure.
cheers

Excellent work Greg, colourful for sure!. Higher res than your 2009 effort, but that one bought out a bit more detail I think.

Cheers Ingrid.
Yes it is quite detailed.
Sometimes I use 2x2. 4.54 micron pixels at 2x2 become 9microns which is about optimum for the CDK17 at 3 metres. At 2 metres its still good as well, so there is a choice there. 2x2 on a 9 micron pixel is a bit much.
Thanks Fred. I like that earlier one as well. That was about 20 hours with the TEC180 and down at my dark site, so yes it was quite nice data.
Thanks Erik!

Thanks Marco. It is a nice scope. I'll have to give it some time at a truly dark site at some point.
Greg.
Wonderful.
Love this, well done Greg.

Thanks Andrew. This little Trius camera is very sensitive to Ha and O111 which is handy.

A really beautiful Horsehead you've got there Greg. The resolution is impressive, and nice tight stars all over the frame.
What is the ratio of Ha to L data in this image?

Thanks Rolf. Ha was about 3.5 hours. Total LRGB about 7 hours.

Thanks very much Steven, I appreciate your kind comment.
Thanks for that. Yes the Ha seems deeper. The camera is very sensitive to Ha at 70% QE. But the LRGB is always a bit dim with the Horsehead.
