First opportunity in weeks. Europa's shadow leaving and Io approaching. Seeing about 5/10. This is a first run from several takes - will try again aligning on Io to try to get it round.

Hi Graeme,

very nice image. Is that fully processed or just out of Registax?

Looks like it was better in Adelaide than the Eye Peninsula last night. We only got a 2/10. Could hardly get a decent focus.

Nice shot! I'm just wondering why you post your images on such an angle?

Thanks, Asi & Lester
I did separate RGB processing, then some mild deconvolution in Astra Image. Need to refine this technique but after last night I have plenty of footage to practise on. The seeing in Adelaide was unusual. Quite a bit of detail visible on the screen at times, but the planet jumped around a lot. Wouldn't mind some of that dark sky Lester's selling.

I usually rotate the image as below but didn't get around to it. You do lose some quality by rotating in PS. I should have rotated the camera but it makes altaz corrections more tricky.

Very nice image Graham.

Like yours too, Matt. Similar equipment, same night. Comparing the 2, I'm thinking my colour balance is a little too green.

You are right Graham. There is just a hint of green there, which would be easy to adjust.

Nice job:thumbsup:

Hi Graeme,

Just done a practice process on your image, (hope you don't mind).

That's really not improved it Lester.

It's made it really dark and it now has too much blue.

Must be your screen? Have you calibrated?

It's a simulated view using 2 blue filters stacked Matt...;)

I don't mind at all, Lester. It does show more detail. I'm going to reprocess it myself and try to sharpen a bit more aggressively.

Thanks Graeme,

I haven't been able to produce any images for ages so was busting to do something. Feel better now, relieved the pressure.

Very Nice Graeme! The C11 produces some great results:thumbsup:

How long did you capture for, it looks like there might be some rotational smearing effect, but then again it could just be the seeing?

cheers,

Interesting thought, Rob. It was 110 secs which might have been pushing it a bit. Given the not great seeing, I thought more frames would be better.

110 seconds is fine, I capture for 120 seconds at a longer focal length.
