Adding couple of pictures. One showing the edge damage. Actual size of chip: extends 50mm along the circumference, 12mm down the side, and 5mm in from the edge. A 3mm bevel would remove most of the damage from the top edge. The reverse side of the mirror is good. You can see relative size of chip at 8 oclock on first picture.

WHOOPS! Just noticed I have put on the wrong chip photo (photo 2). Chip picture is from a more severely damaged 12.2" (310mm) blank.

Stephen.

Hi Stephen,
Do you have indicative pricing for the other sizes?
It has been a very long time since I pushed glass, but I may be interested in a 12".
Would these be the 34 or the 37mm thick glass?

Hi Simon,

I have a 12.2" (310mm) by 1.378" (35mm) thick (edge chip going 5mm onto one face,[see my first entry as damage shown is for this mirror]). The other face is good. NZD$165.00.

Also there is a 12.6" (320mm) by 35mm thick no edge damage for NZD$195.00.

Best regards
Stephen

Update: Prices of the above are in NZ$.

Shipping cost example NZ-Oz: I can ship a 14.2" blank to Oz for NZ$102.44 (International Economy Post). 17mm thick plywood carrying crate is an extra NZ$30.

Also can supply;) Grit kits.

And: 24"(610mm) x 1.378"(35mm). 25.9kg. $390. (Reduced from $600).

A 35mm thick blank is 1.4x the thickness of a 25mm. As stiffness goes up with the cube of thickness increase, then 35mm is 2.744x stiffer than a 25mm thickness blank, therefore able to hold a better figure.

These blanks at the new prices represent excellent value for money.

Grit kits #40 to #1000, pitch and rouge also available with these blanks. (for extra cost).

Hi Stephen,

I'd be interested in this with an approx f/5 curve ground. This would be a first mirror for me - would you (and others on this thread) be willing to help a newbie through the grinding and finishing process? If so, what price to send to the North Island please?

PM or email welcome if that makes more sense than discussing here.

Thanks,
Bruce

More of the same:

15.75" diameter 1 3/8" thick (11kg) $190 [Sold].
20.1" diameter 1 3/8" thick (18kg) $310
22"...............................(21k g) $370
25.2".............................(28kg) $490

All good. ;)

Small fraction the price of Supremax. Cheaper than 25mm plate glass, but 2.74x stiffer.

Also can pre-generate curves for the above from f4 to f8, (will cost extra).

Paypal accepted (but will add paypal commission to purchase price).
