Thought that I would attempt to image something through the clouds that seem permanently over BrisVegas and saw a reference to these two galaxies in Antila which looked interesting. Tried to get some colour but got half way through getting it and the clouds defeated me again - so its in mono for the moment. Im trying to image seldom done galaxies at the moment rather than the usual suspects.
Took 16x5min Luminance and processed in PS3.

Good to see you got some data, Allan. Every time I think of setting up it clouds over or rains for 5 minutes :mad2: They look like interesting targets.

Cheers,
Rick.

I know what you mean Rick. I've set up several times in the last few weeks just to have intermittent clouds and then a complete cloud out. Very frustrating. After capturing the lum shots the clouds came in while I was doing the colour so I started to pack up and by the time I had finished it was clear again. Sometimes you just can't win.

Thanks for the comment Ray. I have a few more out of the way to do if I can just get a break.

Well you're half way there Allan, they are a cool looking pair, I had them earmarked and almost did them myself the other night, I did a test fame shot even but decided to move on and go for something a bit larger :)

Hope you get the colour soon

Mike

Grest shot there Allan. That's an unusual galaxy on the left.

Greg.

Great shot Allan, looks like a few background galaxies in that shot as well.

Mike, I was lucky to get some mono and I'm sure that colour would be extravagant considering the weather we have here in BrisVegas. But not to be down hearted I'm sure that by the time it's a full moon that the clouds will go away.

Thanks for that Louie.

Greg, it was that galaxy that intrigued me as well as it being an easy pair but I think I will have to lick my wounds on this one.

At the moment it seems that in my images there are a really high number of background galaxies as its well away from the zone of avoidance. Thanks for the comment Geoff. How is your mosaic going?

nice set of galaxies

nice to see a mono from someone else :)

I'll be fascinated to see what colour you get, if you get that far. I don't have much luck pulling colour from galaxies as we all know  especially elliptical galaxies :)

At the moment it's nothing but mono I'm afraid. I was doing NGC2835 (now that's a faint little b..gger!) and just as I finished my luminance and got one red frame the clouds rolled in. That was after a meridian flip and SGPro putting me back on target at 4 pixels difference from the reference frame. Arrrrrrrrghhhh
I just can't get a break at the moment but I will soldier on and see if I can get some colour tomorrow night. But it may turn out to be a mono image as usual.
