Hi,

Time to visit Omega Cen again, haven't imaged since 2012.
This is a combination of 5 x 90 sec - 10 x 150 sec and 10 x 330 sec exposures at ISO 800 with the 8" astrograph and Canon 1100D. Each was stacked separately in DSS and blended in PS 7.

It's actually surprising that's there's not more images of Omega on IIS. Must admit to taking a peak or two at Mikes Omega " Beautiful " before processing.

Rather chuffed the way it's turned out.:)

Cheers,

Justin.

Pinpoint stars and resolved to the core-very nice, Justin

That is pretty special Justin,

I would be happy with that, no gradients that I can see and you resolved the core beautifully.

Star colours look lovely, all in all I would say an excellent job.

Nice work!

Cheers

Chris

Beautiful picture of one of my favourites. I love globular clusters, and this picture really makes it 3 dimensional. Really lovely.

Looks very nice, Justin, but not quite as grand as some images I have seen (or its visual appearance through a good scope). Not sure if that's because of the limited upload size or maybe the core has been tamed a little too much for my taste?

Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks Laurie!

It's a beautiful DSO.

Thanks Chris!

It's taken quite a while to get enough skills to do justice to Omega.

Thanks Andrew!

Thanks Luke!

Glad you like it, always good to hear positive feedback.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks Rick!

Yep core is pretty tame, I think just because I can do it now.

Cheers,

Justin.

I tend to overdo it myself, Justin :)

Some of the nice images I have seen still have that big glow at the core that sets Omega apart from inferior globs like M13 ;)

Cheers,
Rick.

Here's a repro with a little buzz at the core.

Justin.

Wow! What a beauty. If only I could get images remotely close to that I'd be a very happy man :D

Nice work as usual Justin... I like seeing your images and seeing the FOV you get, your lucky with your skies.... Just came back from Snake Valley in Vic, and thought about staying there a few times, although We do have some pretty awesome skies in SA not far from Adelaide.
